Resource For Interior Design: As America's newest and finest resource for interior design, the International Design Center is setting new standards for an industry long accustomed to the best.In a magnificent setting in the heart of booming Southwest Florida, the IDC is home to showrooms of fine furniture and accessories, fabrics, Wall coverings, lighting, kitchen and Bath products, flooring, art and antiques.
"They're a great interactive resource," says interior designer Ky Ta of Washington.By posting questions on blog comment boards, he says, "you can basically leverage the entire design community to solve problems.They're also a great buying guide for people who don't necessarily know where to go to look for certain things.So they're really providing a free service, and anyone with an Internet connection can use it."See Also Society Of Interior Designers:Sponsored by the Pasadena chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers, the tour will take you inside five homes, all within a 9-mile radius, where kitchens are at the heart of the home.Other parts of the houses - living rooms, entryways, family rooms and home offices - will be open for viewing as well, but the kitchens are definitely the stars of this tour.
Bookings for the dinner will open in February. Entry is open to all Australian-based interior designers, interior decorators, interior architects and other design professionals. Entries are encouraged from individuals, groups, partnerships and those working in larger practices. All projects entered must have been completed between 1 September 2004 and 31 December 2005 and may not have been entered into the 2005 Interior Design Awards. An Award is given to projects that demonstrate the highest level of achievement within their category in accordance with the judging criteria.
On The Other Hand See Designers And Interior Experts:designEX : 360 Degrees of Design in 2006The Southern Hemisphere's largest, most prestigious and influential forum for contemporary design, designEX, will return to Sydney in April 2006.The event, which attracted nearly 21,000 people in 2005, will see Australia's top designers and interior experts meet for three days to see the latest trends and innovative products available in the world of design.
The key, according to design experts, is to make the changes that best suit the person who lives or visits there.Because it's more expensive to renovate than to build in accessibility, in some cases, it may be cheaper to move than to modify, experts say.
