New Design Lines: A collection of botanical paintings lines the hall wall, adding colour and detail. Although they appear to be hung in a random pattern, they are in fact cleverly lined up to create strong horizontal lines running from frame to frame. This ties in well with the horizontals of the understairs storage, and helps lead the eye from the door into the house.
Practically all the famous artists have produced in this medium as well as in oil, and it is universally used at the present time. Water colors make delightful decorations, and must be judged on an art basis.Woodcuts. These were the earliest means of making prints. The line New design Lines is drawn or pasted upon a pearwood block and the necessary furrows are cut out with a Knife or graver, to leave only the line in relief. Woodcuts are used for impressions upon paper and textiles. Lines are bold, and prints may be made in black or color. The great period of woodcuts occurred in Germany during the life of Albrecht Diirer (16th century). However, excellent woodcuts are extensively made today. In wood-engravings lines are cut in a boxwood block. The New design Lines is printed from the untouched surfaces. In woodblocks, the block is cut away to leave the New design Lines intended. The surfaces are inked and pressed on paper. In color printing, separate blocks are used for the various colors.See Also Range Of Design Fields:Lisbon Ideas Challenge is a design competition mainly aimed at students and professionals recently graduated (e.g. for less than 5 years) in the fields of design (industrial, architects and other related fields) and engineering.
