Interior Design Accepts: Phyllis Lambert Accepts NBM's 2006 Vincent J. Scully PrizeThe National Building Museum presented its seventh Vincent J. Scully Prize to Phyllis Lambert.The Museum's Prize recognizes Lambert's outstanding contributions to the design of the built environment, advancement of public awareness of design, and dedication to architectural preservation.Over the past 50 years, Phyllis Lambert-architect, educator, activist, and philanthropist-has championed excellence in the design of the built environment and worked to improve public understanding of modern design.
Bookings for the dinner will open in February. Entry is open to all Australian-based Interior Design Accepts designers, Interior Design Accepts decorators, Interior Design Accepts architects and other design professionals. Entries are encouraged from individuals, groups, partnerships and those working in larger practices. All projects entered must have been completed between 1 September 2004 and 31 December 2005 and may not have been entered into the 2005 Interior Design Accepts Design Awards. An Award is given to projects that demonstrate the highest level of achievement within their category in accordance with the judging criteria."DesignLines is geared for the design consumer who wants to source the hottest contemporary design showrooms, avant-garde art galleries, select restaurants, boutique hotels and best designed spas," says new editor Catherine Osborne.
With the help of Interior Design geared designer Pam Jaffke, they created a built-in media center, used a creative seating arrangement geared for both socializing and viewing, and installed concealed remote-control shades to darken the room at will."My husband thinks it's the coolest thing in the world because it's like James Bond," says Beth Manning of the shades they installed. "We're really happy with the whole room. It's sophisticated but comfortable."
On The Other Hand See Interior Design 1907-1988:Bruno Mathsson (1907-1988) developed modernism in furniture design and architecture, addressing both general and special problems in the design of furniture, Interior Design 1907-1988s and buildings.
