Advanced Architecture Contest: Advanced Architecture Contest : Awarded ProjectsThe Advanced Architecture Contest has come to an end.This successful competition has achieved a total of 2570 applications from more than 100 countries and 508 submissions of projects received concentrated in 130 finalists.Final results of the competition are available at Advanced Architecture Contest website.
Winning Projects : International Architecture Competition CHAN CHAN 2006Architectum announced the winning projects of the "CHAN CHAN 2006" International Architecture Contest."CHAN CHAN 2006" competition took the same ideas of our past competition: "MACHU PICCHU 2004" and NAZCA 2005 but using a new more dynamic, efficient and easier to manage format so that all interested architects were be able to develop, and get to us, their ideas, within a more user friendly and simpler environment.Architectum's initiative to organize this contest of ideas first appeared from the necessity of celebrating such an important site as The Chan Chan Citadel, through the construction of a Beach Lodge; a new style of accommodations which - differing of the classic folkloric resort or theme hotel - would "celebrate" the natural scenario more than "distract" with its own facilities.See Also Impact On Architecture:The Pritzker Prize jury said: "The work of Thom Mayne moves architecture from the 20th to the 21st century" and "Every now and then an architect appears on the international scene who teaches us to look at the art of architecture with fresh eyes."The Irish Architecture Foundation was established last year under the terms of the Government's architectural policy, Action on Architecture, 2002-2005, to increase the understanding and impact of contemporary architecture in Ireland and to excite a wider public to its aesthetic and cultural value.
