Step 1.
Using a stir stick, mix the Venetian Plaster
thoroughly.
TIP
We recommend you use a practice board to
preview your technique and color combination before beginning your
project.
Step 2.
Load Venetian Plaster onto a steel trowel.
TIP
Venetian Plaster Round the corners of the steel trowel with
100-grit sandpaper or a file to reduce edge marks during
application. Follow up with 400-grit sandpaper for a smoother edge.
Step 3.
Starting in the corner of the room, apply
the Venetian Plaster to the wall holding the steel trowel at a
15-30 degree angle.
Step 4.
Spread the Venetian Plaster thinly across
the surface using long and short random strokes. The original wall
surface should peek through in certain areas.
TIP
Wipe off the steel trowel often to avoid
dried Venetian Plaster from effecting the application.
Step 5.
Allow the Venetian Plaster to dry for 4
hours prior to applying the second coat.

Step 1.

Step 2.
Starting in the corner of the room, apply a
thin coat of the Venetian Plaster to the wall holding the steel
trowel at a 60-90 degree angle. Use long and short, overlapping
strokes.
Step 3.
Fill in voids and recessed areas, while
covering the original wall surface completely.
Step 4.
Smooth away any edge marks or high spots
with the trowel.

Step 5.
Allow the Venetian Plaster to dry for 24
hours prior to topcoating or burnishing.

For added durability and protection, use the
Venetian Plaster Topcoat. Premium Plus With Style Venetian Plaster
Topcoat provides a washable, satin-sheen finish in high traffic or
high-moisture areas. Do not burnish or polish the surface before
or after the application of the topcoat.
Step 1.
Using a clean flexible 4" or larger steel
trowel, spread the Venetian Plaster Topcoat across the surface
holding the trowel at a 60-90 degree angle. Use long and short,
overlapping strokes.
TIP
Spread Venetian Plaster Topcoat onto the
surface thinly, avoiding puddling into the recessed areas, as this
will result in a milky appearance when dry.
Step 2.
Allow to dry approximately 24 hours.
Burnishing |
Step 1.
Allow the Venetian Plaster finish to dry 24
hours and burnish the surface within 7 days of application.
Step 2.
Using 400 or 600 grit sandpaper, rub the
surface in a circular motion until the desired look is achieved.
For larger areas, a power sander may be used.
Step 3.
Wipe the burnished surface with a water
dampened rag to remove any plaster dust.
Step 4.
For a more polished look after burnishing,
use the flat side of a clean steel trowel. The heat and friction
created by rubbing produces a defined, glossy appearance.
