The artisans at A. Thayer
Smith, Inc. are expert at producing custom Plaster Molds for new work and for
reproducing existing architectural ornament and sculpture, interior or
exterior. Whether you are restoring an existing architectural landmark or
creating new original ornament, you will find our work flawless and true to
the builder's vision. We have long experience in traditional and modern
materials including gypsum plaster, cast stone, glass fiber reinforced
concrete (GFRC) and glass reinforced gypsum (GRG). Plaster Molds can be produced
from original elements removed from the site or taken in place, with no mess
or damage to the existing work.
We can install work as well
as produce Plaster Molds and cast elements. This is often most efficient as it
allows us to be fully accountable for the performance and suitability of the
finished result.
Working with architects,
contractors and owners, A. Thayer Smith III, Inc. has executed decorative
and molded plaster projects throughout Eastern Pennsylvania, Delaware,
New Jersey and the New York City area. Ornamental plaster is an
